Sakinah

Terms of Service

Draft structure — this document is NOT final and Sakinah is NOT accepting real users until counsel signs off (build spec §9).

1. Who can use Sakinah

Sakinah is for adults 18 years or older in the United States seeking marriage. Age is enforced at signup and at the database level; misrepresenting your age is grounds for permanent removal.

2. Message safety review — read this

Conversations on Sakinah are automatically reviewed by software for harassment or abuse, sexual solicitation, off-platform contact sharing, and spam or scams. Messages that trip these checks are copied to a review queue where a human moderator looks at them and may issue a warning, suspension, or ban. Consent to this review is a condition of using Sakinah, collected as a separate checkbox at signup.

[ POLICY — founder + legal must confirm before launch ]

Retention: flagged-message logs are kept for 30 days and then purged. This window intersects state two-party-consent / wiretap law; it is set to 30 days and should be confirmed with counsel before launch.

3. Identity verification

Selfie and liveness verification is performed by Persona, a third-party identity provider. Sakinah receives only a pass/fail result and never stores your selfie, biometric data, or identity documents.

4. Community conduct

Sakinah exists for marriage-intentioned connection. Harassment, sexual content, impersonation, solicitation, and commercial activity are prohibited. Photos remain veiled until a mutual match by design; attempting to circumvent the veil, scrape profiles, or automate access is prohibited.

5. Moderation decisions

Human reviewers may warn, suspend, or ban accounts based on flagged messages or member reports. Profiles are also manually reviewed before first going live.

[ POLICY — founder + legal must confirm before launch ]

Appeals process, arbitration/dispute-resolution clause, governing law, and limitation of liability are unwritten and require counsel.

6. Fees

Sakinah is free during the initial period. Paid features, if introduced, will be announced with their own terms.
